How to watch NBA 2019-20 season: ESPN and SBS NBA games
The 2019/20 NBA opening night tips off live on ESPN with Raptors vs Pelicans and Lakers vs Clippers.
The 2019/20 NBA season is the most hyped one in forever. In what could have potentially been the wildest off-season of all time, the entire landscape of the NBA has now changed. Several superstars signed with new teams while multiple others were traded.
To many fans the beauty of the NBA is that it's a 24/7 league. Games run all across the day every week. Australians can adapt to this by watching NBA at work or watching NBA on replay, which we'll elaborate on a little later.
NBA season preview
The 2018/19 finals' MVP and NBA Champion Kawhi Leonard left the Toronto Raptors for the LA Clippers. His arrival also prompted the Clippers to trade for All-Star Paul George from Oklahoma City Thunder.
The worst kept secret of last season finally happened with Anthony Davis officially joining LeBron James at the Los Angeles Lakers. DeMarcus Cousins landed at the Lakers too, but won't play after tearing his ACL.
Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving became Brooklyn Nets to finally land one New York franchise with a superstar. The pair's arrival saw D'Angelo Russell complete a sign and trade to become the third splash brother for Golden State.

OKC stalwart Russell Westbrook will team up with former teammate James Harden at the Houston Rockets. Westbrook's 11-year tenure with the Thunder shockingly ended when he was swapped out for Chris Paul.
Kemba Walker had enough of missing out on the play-offs, so he chose to sign with the Boston Celtics. Al Horford will supersize the Philadelphia 76ers, joining giants Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.
Jimmy Butler will take his talents to South Beach after signing with Miami Heat. Kristaps Porzingis is finally healthy and set to debut alongside Luka Doncic for the Dallas Mavericks.
Rookie phenom Zion Williamson was drafted first overall by New Orleans. Zion will be ready to dance in the Big Easy with new Pelicans Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram.

Australians are now lucky to choose from multiple options to watch the NBA. This wasn't always the case and the 2019/20 NBA season marks the first time in 8 years some games will be available on free-to-air.
Below are the ESPN and SBS NBA broadcast details for the first two weeks of the season. Combining the content shown by these two broadcasters is the best way for Australians to keep up with the NBA without forking out hundreds of dollars.
The ESPN schedule has a colossal opening day as part of the US Sports Equinox. It starts with Toronto Raptors vs New Orleans Pelicans, unfortunately Zion Williamson has picked up an injury and won't play. It's still worth the watch, so tune in early to see the world champion Raptors receive their NBA Championship rings.
Definitely the most anticipated opening game is the Battle of LA. The Lakers and the Clippers might be the two new title heavyweights. They'll also be vying to be the best basketball team in Los Angeles.
