Famous Victorian clubs Richmond and Geelong come head-to-head in a massive 2020 AFL grand final. The 2020 AFL season has been unlike any to come before it, with players, coaches and officials subjected to a series of "bubbles" to navigate the coronavirus pandemic.
A rescheduled 17-round season has been completed, with the top 4 sides on the ladder – Port Adelaide, Brisbane Lions, Richmond and Geelong, respectively – making the preliminary finals.
In a rare event, neither of the top two teams made the decider, with the defending champion Tigers and Chris Scott's Cats the last teams standing for a grand final that will be held at the Gabba in Brisbane, rather than the MCG. You can watch the grand final and relive matches from the season on demand using Watch AFL if you're overseas.
A subscription for a Grand Final Pass is $40 and provides access to Watch AFL until 1 November 2020. The PPV-style pass will give you access to the FOX FOOTY channel for all the post-grand final content and the season wrap-up. It's the only way you can guarantee yourself that you'll be able to watch the grand final live or on demand.
Watch AFL is also very user-friendly and has a range of compatibility options. You can watch on your laptop via the Watch AFL website or there's an app you can download to your phone. Best of all it's compatible with Google Chromecast and Apple TV, so you can stream direct to the big screen.
This is a really cheap option if you have a small group together outside of Australia to watch the game. It's a neat way to have a watch party and feel like you're at home with everyone cheering on. To find out about other Watch AFL subscription packages that let you watch footy all year round, have a look at our how to stream AFL from overseas guide.
If you're desperate to get a hold of the AFL from outside of Australia then you've probably already tried to research who holds Australia's sporting broadcast rights. Due to Channel 7 holding exclusive broadcast rights of the AFL grand final, there's really no other way around streaming the game from overseas except with a Watch AFL Grand Final pass.
Depending on where you are in the world you can potentially track down a pub or sports bar that's showing the game. Who knows you might even find some fellow travellers who are there to watch the game too. While there's probably no admission fee to watch at a bar, once you add in the likely cost of food, drinks and tips things start to add up.
Why not host your own viewing party? First you need to meet some people who want to watch too. Next everyone chips in for a Watch AFL Grand Final pass. Then finally, you can stream the match live and drink for cheaper at your own venue. Not bad if you ask us, maybe you stumble across some Australian beers or foods too.
You can take a look at the AFL website to see which countries broadcast the sport. If you are keen to stream the match on your own terms in Australia, it will be available right after full-time on Kayo Sports, Foxtel iQ or Foxtel Now.
With the MCG in Melbourne unavailable due to COVID-19, it was decided that the Gabba in Brisbane would be the host venue in 2020. A crowd of 30,000 has been granted for the 42,000-seat venue, so it's guaranteed to be a raucous, electric atmosphere. In another first, we're getting a night-time decider. The opening bounce will be at 7:30pm AEDT on Saturday 24 October.

As most footy fans would be well aware, entertainment makes up a big part of the grand final day and has a mixed record at best. The less said about Meatloaf, the standard-bearer for what you don't want on the big day, the better.
This year, the AFL has stuck with an all-Aussie line-up that has proven successful in recent years. Indie pop band and Brisbane's own Sheppard are among the headliners and will feature in the half-time show.
Local rock act DMA's, plus Cub Sport, Wolfmother lead vocalist Andrew Stockdale and Australian Indigenous electronic act Electric Fields are all part of the day. In keeping with tradition, Mike Brady will perform Up There Cazaly from the MCG, accompanied by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, who will be live at the Gabba.
While local fans will be gutted the Lions fell one match short of the grand final, we still have a headline match-up for 2020. The Tigers have shown their era of success isn't finished yet and have a shot at a third flag in the past four seasons.
They take on on a Geelong outfit that hasn't won a flag since 2011 and could send out club champion Gary Ablett the best way possible. Brownlow Medallist and Cats superstar Patrick Dangerfield will also be salivating at the prospect of his first appearance in a grand final.
The Cats and Tigers first met way back in 1908, with Richmond prevailing by one straight kick at Punt Road. Since then they have met a total of 197 occasions, with Geelong winning 104 times to the Tigers' 90, with 3 draws.
In Dustin Martin, Trent Cotchin, Jack Riewoldt, Dion Prestia and Shane Edwards, the Tigers have a proven squad who know exactly what's required on grand final day. The Cats meanwhile will look to the likes of skipper Joel Selwood, Ablett, Dangerfield, Tom Hawkins and Harry Taylor to steady the ship.
This is such a tight match to pick. As always we hope for a thriller on grand final day and with the shorter quarters in place this year, there's less chance of a blow-out. It feels like a 50-50 contest, but we'll opt for Geelong by 2 points led by our choice for Norm Smith Medallist, Patrick Dangerfield.
