Linear Finance is a decentralised protocol specialising in unlimited liquidity, delta one synthetic assets. Delta one synthetic assets are essentially price trackers; they provide exposure to an underlying asset, like an exchange-traded fund (ETF), without actually owning the asset. On the Linear platform, users can mint synthetic assets that mimic the price of real-world assets like commodities, market funds and bonds. These synthetic assets are known as "Liquids". The purpose of using synthetic assets is to avoid the high gas fees and slow speeds that have plagued many cryptocurrency platforms. Though Linear Finance is Ethereum-based, it is cross-chain compatible, meaning it can integrate with other decentralised finance (DeFi) projects. LINA is an ERC-20 token native to the Linear network. Because Linear Finance is decentralised, its governance is determined by token holders voting on proposals regarding dApp development, synthetic asset listings and more. LINA tokens are also used for minting new synthetic assets (being held as collateral) and can also be staked or contributed to liquidity pools.
