LG K8 launches in Australia
Another budget handset for your smartphone needs.
We’re awash in very low budget handsets at the moment, with entries from Motorola, HTC and Sony arriving in Australia recently to tempt the cash-strapped buyer.
LG is no stranger to the budget phone scene, and it has announced Australian availability of its latest affordable model handset, the LG K8. It’s part of a series that LG first announced back at CES 2017, and while it’s not the absolute lowest tier of that series, it’s still very much a budget phone.
For $249, you get a 5 inch 720p display running a Quad-Core Mediatek MT6737 processor with 16GB of onboard storage. In camera terms the LG K8 comes with a 13MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera with automatic selfie capability. The front facing camera can be set to automatically take a shot when a face is detected, or optionally via a hand gesture in front of the phone.
The LG K8 is available now for $249 outright through JB Hi-Fi. There's no contract option on a phone this inexpensive, but you could always match it up with a prepaid phone plan if the K8 tempts you.
