Laura Mercier is leaving Australia and we’re in mourning

Grab a box of tissues because this is a story we deliver with a heavy heart...

The news broke over the weekend that cult favourite beauty brand, Laura Mercier, will indeed be withdrawing from the Australian market. Why the brand has decided to make this move is still up in the air at the moment but regardless, we are not happy.

You've probably heard of Laura Mercier for the cult product, the Translucent Setting Powder. This product is a favourite amongst major beauty bloggers like Jaclyn Hill and Shani Grimmond. The brand also recently released a new full coverage foundation that hadn't yet landed in Australia, but we don't think it will at all now.

Makeup junkies got the heads up over the weekend with an image leaked onto Facebook by an Adore Beauty customer. Adore Beauty is an official Australian stockist of Laura Mercier and sent out an email letting the customer know that they would no longer be able to purchase the brand's products.

The email read, "I have some heartbreaking news, Laura Mercier is leaving. I know you're a fan, so I wanted to give you the heads up that unfortunately Laura Mercier will be withdrawing from Australia as of June 30th 2018. (Yes, we're crying with you)."

Adore Beauty stated that you will be able to purchase the brand from now until the very dark day of 30 June. The brand is still yet to explain or give a formal statement surrounding the move but we're waiting, and it better be a good reason. The other place you can purchase Laura Mercier from is our favourites over at Sephora.

Just to twist the knife further, the official Laura Mercier only ships to addresses within the US. However, we've done our own digging and you WILL still be able to purchase Laura Mercier but it will cost you a bit more than before. You can use services like Shipmate or MyUS, which give you a US address and then ship it to you from that.
