Get set to discover 5 South American cities at $100+ less.

South American airline LATAM has ditched the dollars on flights to its South American locations with fares down to an unheard of $899 return.

Get these while they're hot.

The sale is being advertised on the official site with prices from $1,029 on trips between Melbourne and Santiago (which is standard on a LATAM sale) though we found them $100+ cheaper on Flight Centre.

Other hot fares selling through Flight Centre include: Melbourne to Buenos Aires from $945, Sydney to Santiago from $919 and Brisbane to Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro from $1,149 return.

Flights are available from eight Aussie cities, including Canberra, Cairns and Hobart on top of your more standard eastern coast cities, giving everyone the chance to visit South America for a steal.

Travel dates are wide-reaching, ranging from 24 July - 21 October. Although school holiday dates are blacked out, October long weekend is still included which you can use in your favour to save an extra day for another trip later in the year.

This sale is available until 2 May unless seats sell out prior. At these prices, you need to get on them asap.

You can do that through Flight Centre at these super cheap prices now.

How good are these fares?

With a starting price of under $900 return, these are the cheapest fares we've ever seen to South America. The only time we recall them coming close is when Qantas took fares down to $981 return which is still almost $100 more than these fares.

They is also a wide range of dates and, as there's not really a poor time to visit the continent, it's really just up to you which season best suits your holidaying needs.

Can we rave about these fares enough? Not really.
