Beauty product of the week: LANÁTE face cream
LANÁTE is a drug-store product that worked better for me than some luxury brands.
Why we love this product
Peeling serums and acids are having a moment right now. Many big name beauty brands, like Lancome have been introducing these into their skincare offerings.
I was recently offered the opportunity to try a peeling product for sensitive skin, it's a face moisturiser containing lactic acid called LANÁTE. LANÁTE creams contain 17.5% Ammonium Lactate, which has a chemical exfoliant effect. Lactic acid is a type of AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) but it is one of the gentlest forms, making it an ideal exfoliant for skin that is sensitive to other AHA products.
LANÁTE helps your skin to shed any old or dead skin and encourages it to make newer fresh skin. This can lead to results like diminished fine lines, fading of brown spots, clearer skin, refined and smaller pores, brighter skin and a smoother complexion. I started using it every second night in place of my regular night cream, although it is gentle enough to be used every night. The effects were almost immediate.
After just one of two uses, the congestion around my forehead was significantly dimished, my skin was a lot smoother and definitely a whole lot brighter. Despite my regular use of granular exfoliants when I wash my face, I still was prone to quite rough skin. And now after just two weeks of LANÁTE my skin has never been softer or smoother. It's impressive since I generally use luxury skincare products. In fact, the three products I currently use in my are worth well over $500 all together, and this cream has given me better results when it comes to radiance and smoothness.
LANÁTE is technically still a moisturiser that has many nourishing benefits for the skin too. I have much preferred using an AHA in moisturiser format than in a serum. More often than not you'll still need to add a moisturiser over the top of a serum in order to help your skin retain water and stay hydrated. So LANÁTE is a bit like a two in one.
I've tried a handful of these AHA products and this one is hands down my favourite. It's gentle but it still works. It's easy to use, just apply it everywhere but your eye area. And it's really accessible!
LANÁTE is available for $22.95 for the face cream and $29.95 for the bigger sized body cream. This is about one tenth of the price I've paid for similar products that have been less effective.
