If you have sensitive skin but still want to include retinol in your skincare routine, then you need to give this serum a go.

In case you missed the memo, retinol is a powerhouse ingredient – and it's not just reserved for mature women with wrinkles. Retinol actually targets a number of different skin concerns like acne scars, sun damage, pigmentation and more.

La Roche Posay's latest formulation is unlike anything we've seen from the brand. The unique combination of ingredients means this anti-ageing serum targets more than one concern. So here's exactly what we thought of it.

The quick verdict

Why is it good? This retinol serum completely resurfaces the skin while still retaining your natural moisture barrier.

How much is it? $69.95 for 30mL.

Where to buy it: Adore Beauty and Chemist Warehouse.

La Roche Posay's Retinol B3 Serum is formulated with pure retinol, an active form of Vitamin A that stimulates collagen production, targets fine lines and wrinkles, and corrects an uneven complexion.

One of my favourite things about this product is the texture. It's a silky, lightweight and non-sticky formula that's suited to all skin types, specifically sensitive skin. The supporting ingredients, vitamin B3 and 10% glycerin, work to keep the skin hydrated and retain its natural moisture barrier.

All of these ingredients work harmoniously together to completely resurface the skin. This type of active serum should only be used at night, so you can expect to wake up with a whole new face – well not exactly, but you get the point.

Verdict

Like all other retinol treatments, I apply this at night and tend to need around 2-3 drops for my whole face. I use the Retinol B3 serum about three times a week. To give you some context, I've been using retinol for about a year now, so my skin is fairly used to it. However, if you are just starting out, I recommend trialling 1-2 times a week and seeing how you go from there.

La Roche Posay's Retinol B3 Serum is one of my favourites because it's super gentle on the skin, while still providing impeccable results.

Sunscreen should already be apart of your daily skincare routine, but if for some reason it isn't, you must wear one while using this product. Which one do I recommend? I love the Ultra Violette Supreme Screen, but you can also see our round-up of the best face sunscreens.

Affordability

The RRP of the Retinol B3 Serum is $69.95 for 30mL, although if you shop at Chemist Warehouse, you can usually find it for about $10 cheaper.

Do I think it's worth it? Yes, especially for the price you pay. This retinol serum actually works and should at least last you a few months.

Where to buy

My favourite places to shop all things La-Roche Posay are Adore Beauty and Chemist Warehouse.
