La Prairie's Cellular Lip Colour Effects is the ultimate lush lip gloss.

Why we love this product

If you know anything about La Prairie, you'll know that it's one of those brands that really does what it promises. It's also one of those brands where a moisturiser probably costs as much as a whole month's rent, so for most people, this stuff is rather unattainable.

Although primarily known for skin care, La Prairie actually does have a limited range of colour cosmetics – including this stunning Cellular Lip Colour Effects gloss in the colour cocoa. Honestly, I didn't know much about this gloss when I bought it. I just saw it on Chloe Morello and it looked stunning, so I rushed out and bought one.

But, I'm really glad I did. I love this product. It's a semi-transparent gloss, so you can wear it with toned-down looks or wear it over a lipstick for something more dramatic. I adore the colour. It's the perfect pink-brown colour to match the 90s fashion resurgence.

It doesn't streak and it doesn't feather and it wears for a damn long time when compared with other lip glosses I've tried. As with all other La Prairie products, caring for skin comes first. The product is fortified with antioxidants and conditioning agents, so it's doing something good for your lips.

This is my go-to, wear everywhere and anywhere lip product and I don't know where I'd be without it.

This is La Prairie, so it was never going to be cheap. I paid $52 for mine and I don't regret it. This gloss is definitely pricey but not beyond the realms of affordability.

Where you can buy it

I bought mine at but it often runs out of stock. You can buy them direct from the La Prairie website if you can't find this gloss anywhere else.
