Kogan Mobile has a 30GB mobile data deal

30GB of mobile broadband from as little as $45.20 per month if you pay upfront.
It was only a couple of weeks ago that Kogan signalled its intent to get into the broadband business, with plans to launch NBN services in 2018. Today it has unveiled new mobile broadband plans that are available to consumers right now.
Like its Kogan Mobile telephony services, these are prepaid plans with the option to either pay on a month-by-month basis, or to pay for a 12-month subscription upfront. The 12-month option gives you rolling data allowances and a slight monthly discount. Service is provided on Vodafone's 4G network on a SIM-only basis, with no sign as yet of any Kogan-branded hotspot or USB modem devices.
At launch, Kogan Mobile will offer two mobile broadband packages with either 8GB of data per month or 30GB of data per month. Here's how the pricing compares for these packages on a month-by-month or 12-month basis:
Kogan Mobile Broadband | ||
---|---|---|
Plan inclusion | Monthly price | 12-month price/Effective monthly price |
8GB | $29.90 | $329.90/$27.11 |
30GB | $49.90 | $549.90/$45.20 |
If you're happy to pay upfront, Kogan Mobile's broadband plans are highly competitive against the existing range of mobile broadband offerings in the market right now, although it could well signal something of a price war in the mobile broadband MVNO segment.
