Finder Beauty Fave: Klorane Scalp Detox Shampoo and Conditioner
Treat your scalp to a total cleanse and detox, all thanks to Klorane's new Aquatic Mint range.
Why we love this product
When Klorane announced the new Scalp Detox range, I was more than excited.
The affordable haircare brand has made its way into my daily routine, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I use both the Oat Milk Dry Shampoo and the Colour Enhancing range on a regular basis.
I knew that I had to try the Scalp Detox Range with Organic Aquatic Mint. A shampoo and conditioner that promises to totally clarify and refresh my scalp? Considering I've only been washing my hair once a week in quarantine, this is exactly what my hair needed.
The quick verdict
Why is it good? If your hair needs a deep cleanse without losing its shine, the Scalp Detox range is an absolute treat.
How much is it? The Detox Shampoo and Protective Conditioner retail at $13.95 each.
Where to buy it: Chemist Warehouse and Adore Beauty.
The hero ingredient of the formula is the organic Aquatic Mint extract. This is a super powerful antioxidant (thanks to the high polyphenol content), and it works to detoxify the hair without drying it out. Your natural scalp balance is fully maintained throughout the whole process.
But where does it come from? The Aquatic Mint is actually organically farmed and harvested in the south-west of France using green chemistry. The extraction process doesn't use any water or solvents, thus reducing the carbon footprint.
The range includes the Scalp Detox Shampoo and the Scalp Protective Conditioner. One of my favourite things is how it makes my hair feel.
The Aquatic Mint works to remove any product build-up and totally cleanse the hair. I apply the shampoo directly to my scalp, and it easily forms a lather on wet hair. It also delivers an instant cooling effect on the scalp that is unlike anything I've experienced.
Once I rinse the shampoo out, my hair and scalp feel squeaky clean. So, it's important to follow up with the Scalp Protective conditioner. This works to detangle the hair and hydrate the scalp, leaving me with soft, smooth and shiny locks.
Due to the nature of the ingredients, the formula is a vivid green colour, with a strong but refreshing minty smell. I absolutely love it, but if you're not a fan of mint, I hope this isn't a deal breaker for you.

It may sound a little weird, but this new range gets me excited to wash my hair. The whole shower experience – from the cooling sensation, the colour and the smell – is an absolute dream and it feels like a trip to the hair salon.
Need any more convincing? We've got you covered.
The shampoo and conditioner are free from silicone, parabens, MIT and triclosan. This biodegradable and vegan-friendly formula also arrives in an eco-designed package.
Affordability
The Detox Shampoo and Protective Conditioner retail at the same price, $13.95 each. You do get more product in the shampoo bottle, sitting at 200mL and 150mL respectively.
Considering the nature of the brand and the ingredients, I think this is a super affordable price for hair care products. The Scalp Detox range works, so I am more than happy to pay that price again and again.
Where to buy
Klorane is stocked at both Chemist Warehouse and Adore Beauty, so it's easy to get your hands on anything from the range.
