When Kayo Sports launched in the Australian market with the 13 best channels from the Foxtel sports premium pack, most local sports fans were sorted. More than sorted! We won't dive back into all Kayo's fantastic features here, but there's plenty to love about the way Kayo Sports is disrupting the live sports streaming landscape here in Australia.
While there are over 50 sports available on Kayo, one of the key demographics it missed at launch were lovers of horse racing. While Foxtel offers three Sky Racing channels and a Racing.com channel, Kayo Sports had nothing. Until now.
As of May 6, 2019, a Racing.com channel has appeared in Kayo Sports futuristic UI, bringing with it live horse racing from Victoria and South Australia. Selected events are streamed live and then are available on demand, including the South Australian Autumn Carnival and the Victorian Spring Racing Carnival.
Further padding out the Racing.com channel are talk shows and entertainment programing, such as Get On, Sectional Stars, After The Last and That's Racing. Kayo Sports has also confirmed with Finder that popular commentators and horse racing experts Jason Richardson, Clint Hutchison and Matthew Hill are all on board.
When we predicted the 12 big features that would come to Kayo Sports in 2019, one of them was the arrival of new channels. We had expected the first new addition to be the already revealed Red Bull TV, but while that is still coming, horse racing fans can now enjoy live race days streaming on Kayo Sports.
There has been no word yet on whether the Sky Racing channels will also come to Kayo Sports. While they are available on Foxtel, the three Sky Racing channels – alongside EuroSport – remain the only notable omissions from the Kayo Sports suite of programing. Hopefully we will hear more about that in the future.
For horse racing fans, the arrival of a Racing.com channel simply adds more value to Kayo Sports' already excellent offering. If you want to try it out, the 14-day free trial is easy to opt-in and opt-out of.
