Is there a catch?

While you can trial Kayo's service for 14 days without paying a cent, there are a few things to consider before kicking off. Signing up to one of Kayo's plans requires you to enter your personal details, including your name, address and payment information (credit/debit card details). If you don't cancel your free trial before the 14-day trial is up, you will automatically be charged the monthly cost for the plan you've selected ($25 for basic, $35 for premium).

We recommend setting a reminder or alarm 48 hours before the free trial ends. This way you can cancel if you're not digging Kayo's service without paying a cent. If you're enjoying the service (most sports fans will), you don't need to take any action. You simply let the subscription roll into the first month and continue streaming.

The free trial also does not allow you to access Main Event content on Kayo.

The other issue to consider is data consumption. On average, Kayo will burn through 2.5GB in standard definition and 3.5GB per hour in high definition. That's not an issue on home broadband, but something to think about if you're watching on your phone.

For more information see our Kayo data usage guide. Or if you're hoping to learn more about the service see our extensive Kayo review.

Is the Kayo Sports free trial the same thing as Kayo Freebies?

No, it's not. The free trial gets you full access to the entire Kayo Sports experience for 14-days after which time your credit card is charged if you continue. Kayo Freebies requires no credit card, only an account. It allows you to watch a very limited selection of live sport, shows, docos and replays that change each month. You still get access to all the cool Kayo features, and there is no time limit, but the content quantity is small.

What do I get access to?

The 14-day free trial gives you access to the entire Kayo experience, including archive replays from a library of over 50 sports. Some of the highlights include every single NRL, AFL and home Australian cricket fixture. There compatible apps for iPhone, Android and Chromecast as well as SplitView picture-in-picture and live, up-to-date stats and scores on the latest matches.
