How do I get the Kayo Sports free trial?

Signing up to Kayo Sports will take you no more than two minutes.

  1. Simply head over to Kayo's official website.
  2. Click on the big green "Start your 14-day free trial" button.
  3. Select your desired plan.
  4. Enter your personal details (including payment) and confirm your account.

Once you have registered an email address and password, you will be able to sign in on any compatible device offered by Kayo Sports.

We recommend setting a reminder or alarm 48 hours before the free trial ends. This way you can cancel if you're not digging Kayo's service without paying a cent. If you're enjoying the service (most sports fans will), you don't need to take any action. You simply let the subscription roll into the first month and continue streaming.

We've got both of Kayo's packages listed in the table below. As you'll be able to see the pair only differ with the $35 option allowing you to watch on 3 devices at once rather than 2.

What does the Kayo free trial let you watch?

The 14-day free trial gives you access to the entire Kayo experience, including archive replays from a Kayo Sports library of over 50 sports. Its biggest highlights include every single NRL, AFL and home Australian cricket fixture.

On top of Australian sport you can get America's big four leagues: the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB. There are also things like MMA, motorsport, rugby union, boxing, cycling and surfing. And it includes niche sports like squash, rodeo, rowing, lawn bowls, table tennis and volleyball.

Is there a catch?

The Kayo Sports free trial also does not allow you to access Main Event content on Kayo. When available to watch on Kayo these events are PPV only.

The other issue to consider is data consumption. On average, Kayo will burn through 2.5GB in standard definition and 3.5GB per hour in high definition. That's not an issue on home broadband, but something to think about if you're watching on your phone.

For more information see our Kayo data usage guide. Or if you're hoping to learn more about the service see our extensive Kayo review.

Is the Kayo Sports free trial the same thing as Kayo Freebies?

No, it's not. The free trial gets you full access to the entire Kayo Sports experience for 14 days after which time your credit card is charged if you continue. Kayo Freebies requires no credit card, only an account. It allows you to watch a very limited selection of live sport, shows, docos and replays that change each month. You still get access to all the cool Kayo features and there is no time limit, but the content quantity is small.
