Big change to Kayo Sports: 14-day free trial to be halved

No more free fortnight for sports lovers as 14 days become 7.
The sports streaming service Kayo has notified that its 14-day free trial for new customers is ending. This free trial has been a part of the service since its launch in 2018. The free trial period will instead be 7 days.
This change comes after Kayo recently introduced a new Kayo One package and raised the price of its Basic package.
When is the Kayo Sports 14-day free trial ending?
Posted on numerous articles on Kayo's site is the statement, "The 14-day free trial is ending at 11:59pm AET 31 August". When you head to sign up for Kayo, you are also presented with a message saying the offer ends on 31 August 2022. That means the 14-day free trial ends in less than a month.
Will I still be able to get a Kayo Sports free trial?
You can still get the 14-day free trial until the end of August if you're a new customer. If you sign up now, there's plenty of AFL, NRL, EFL, Scottish Premiership and MotoGP action and more that you can watch at no cost. From 1 September, the free trial period will be 7 days.
We have a step-by-step guide to walk you through getting this free trial.
Kayo also has Kayo Freebies, which allows you to access some sports and matches without having to pay a monthly subscription. However, it is not the same as a free trial.
What will happen to the Kayo Sports free trial after 31 August?
If you're a new customer signing up for Kayo from 1 September, you will still get a free trial, but the duration will instead be for 7 days.
This change to Kayo's free trial comes as sports streaming service Optus Sport also recently removed its free access for Optus customers and increased its cost.
