Kate Spade introduces a luxe new line of smartwatches you’ll actually want to wear
FINALLY, a smartwatch that matches your outfit.
Smartwatches have become a must-have item over the past couple of years. Unfortunately, there aren't many that come away looking like a chic accessory instead of a glorified fitness tracker. Enter Kate Spade. With the brand's classic sense of style and high quality items, you know this is a line you're going to want to throw your money at.
Unveiled at CES 2019, the Scallop 2 range is the perfect combination of sophistication and wearable technology. While the fashion brand already has a beautiful range of Scallop watches with parent company Fossil, we have high hopes for the Scallop 2 line.
The new collection comes with a bunch of nifty new updates, but the one that has us reaching for our purses is the ability to match your outfit. Yes, you read that correctly. Kate Spade has gifted us the power of matching our watch face to our look. The trendy timepieces ask you a range of questions about your current outfit and style the face accordingly. If this isn't the future, I don't know what is.
The glamorous new line isn't just a pretty (watch) face though. It also features a bunch of useful tech like heart rate tracking, untethered GPS and built-in help from the Google assistant. The smatwatches are also swim-proof and have Google Pay ability, so you can grab a latte on your morning stroll without having to lug your handbag along with you.
As well as tracking your steps and keeping you wise to time, the Scallop 2 collection also comes in three stylish colours. There's a pink-gold leather edition and a sleek black silicone style to make pairing with any outfit a breeze. The standout though, is the rose gold stainless steel edition which will keep your outfit looking high-end when you're on the go.
When and where you can shop the collection
The Scallop 2 line is part of the Spring 2019 collection, meaning we'll see it drop in late January here in Australia. If you really can't wait, you can pre-order right now from the Kate Spade website. The new wristwear ranges from US$295-US$335 (approximately $414-$470 Aussie dollars) so get ready to raid your savings account.
Kate Spade has become an iconic name in the fashion world since it's launch in 1993. The iconic designer, Kate Spade herself, sadly passed away last year, but the brand has continued under the vision of creative director Nicola Glass. The change has seen a sense of youthful spirit injected into the brand with the launch of its Disney collection late last year.
