Beauty product of the week: Kat Von D Lock-It Blotting Powder review

Alexandra Hourigan 9 February 2018 NEWS

Let your makeup last all day long with these magical compacts from Kat Von D Beauty.

Why we love this product

This has become a product that is without fail always in my bag or purse wherever I go. I'm one of those people that puts their makeup on in the morning and I really expect it to last all day. Yes, sometimes that's an unrealistic expectation, but with this Kat Von D powder, I get pretty damn close.

While this product is pretty perfect for those with oily skin, I actually have normal to dry skin, which it works fine on. The powder simply ensures that my makeup doesn't budge. Plus, I'm a face toucher. I rub my face, rest my cheeks on my palms and cry at videos of dogs pretty much every day. This means that having a touch-up product handy is something I really can't do without.

The powder comes in the shades light, medium and deep to cater for a number of skin tones, and the best part is, it doesn't leave your skin looking cakey due to over-powdering. "It’s formulated to appear invisible on fair, light, medium and deep complexions. Just blot on and touch-up without adding weight or leaving residue," states the description on the Sephora website, and I really can't argue with that. You also receive a mirror and a cushion puff applicator for applying the product whenever you need.

Affordability

This definitely doesn't have a drugstore price tag, but it's not super steep either. The Kat Von D Lock-It Blotting Powder retails for $45, and you do have the option of using Afterpay so that you can split the payment into four instalments every two weeks.

Where you can buy it

You can purchase the powder from the Sephora website or in stores.
