This is everything you need to know on her shock decision to leave and the re-branding of Kat Von D Beauty.
We live in a world where new beauty collections and makeup products are dropping every single day. A brand that has seemed to slow down in the midst of this madness is Kat Von D Beauty. And now, we know why.
In a detailed Instagram post, Kat Von D has revealed the news that she will be selling her shares of her self-titled brand Kat Von D Beauty.
Now you may be asking yourself why this is all happening. Well, the makeup mogul has been pretty busy becoming a mother, launching a vegan shoe line and continuing to work on her album (and organise an international tour).
Kat Von D said: "As much as I wish I could balance all of this, on top of continuing my makeup line, it has become clear to me that I just can't do everything at the maximum capacity."
All shares will now belong to Kendo, her partner for the past 11 years. But will anything be different? Yes, there will be a full re-branding and a change from Kat Von D Beauty to KvD Vegan Beauty.
While some may be upset to see Kat Von D go, we're excited about this change and it gets a big tick in our books. Why? Because it gives more recognition to vegan and cruelty-free beauty brands.
If you didn't know, the makeup brand has actually always produced vegan makeup. However, including the word in the brand's title showcases the importance of it and will hopefully encourage other companies to follow in the same direction.
What can you do in the meantime? You can continue to shop the brand from Sephora online and wait for any more changes. If there are any, you'll find out here first!
