If you need to send money from Australia to Indonesia or vice versa, Kangaroo Service specialises in handling money transfers between the two countries. With an Indonesian base in Jakarta and an Australian base in Coburg North, Kangaroo Service provides competitive exchange rates and minimal fees for its transfer service.
When you need your funds to arrive as soon as possible, Kangaroo Service offers same-day transfers in amounts of up to $1,000. It offers a simple five-step transfer process for new customers and takes the hassle out of sending money overseas.
Kangaroo Service exchange rates are updated regularly throughout the day to reflect market fluctuations. The rates on offer are typically better than those available from banks, and you can check the rate on the Kangaroo Service website, by sending an SMS or email to the company, or by phoning Kangaroo Service directly.
If the exchange rate changes after you have transferred funds to Kangaroo Service, you will receive the higher rate if the company receives your transaction confirmation within 1 minute of the rate change. If confirmation arrives later than this, then the updated rate will apply to your transfer.
Back to topWhen you use Kangaroo Service to send money from Australia to Indonesia, a flat transfer fee of $10 per beneficiary applies to all transactions. No other fees apply.
If you send funds from Indonesia to Australia, the fee structure is a little more complex.
As of 1 June 2015, the maximum transfer amount with Kangaroo Service is $1,000 per day. No minimum amount is listed on the website. As a specialist in transfers between Australia and Indonesia, Kangaroo Service only offers the ability to send money to Indonesia from Australia and vice versa.
Kangaroo Service is available for one-off transfers between Australia and Indonesia, allowing you to safely send funds from your Australian bank account to your recipient’s bank account in Indonesia. Options such as forward contracts or scheduling recurring payments in advance are not offered by the company.
If you need help with a transaction, you can contact Kangaroo Service via phone or email.
Back to topBefore sending money overseas with Kangaroo Service, you will need to register for an account. The first step is to download a registration form from the Kangaroo Service website and fill out your details, including your personal information and details of the person who will receive your funds in Indonesia. You’ll need to post this form back to Kangaroo Service and also provide a certified copy of photo ID, for example your passport or driver’s licence.
Once you’re registered, the next thing you need to do is find out the current exchange rate available from Kangaroo Service. You can do this by visiting the company website, emailing or texting the company, visiting its Facebook or Twitter page or phoning Kangaroo Service.
You can then deposit the funds you wish to send into Kangaroo Service’s account with Bendigo Bank. Your funds must be sent via internet banking and cannot be sent via a cash deposit at a branch.
You then need to contact Kangaroo Service and tell them where you would like your funds to be sent, and once your money has cleared in the company’s account, they can begin the transfer process. Funds transferred before 4pm AEST should make it to your beneficiary on the same day.
You will be emailed a deposit receipt from your recipient’s Indonesian bank.
