Trader Joe is a decentralised exchange (DEX) developed on the Avalanche blockchain. It is one of the fastest-growing decentralised finance (DeFi) applications within the native Avalanche ecosystem. The platform leverages the speed, scalability, and interoperability of the Avalanche network to offer one of the best and most inclusive trading services in the crypto market. Through Trader Joe, users have access to a complete set of trading features, including spot trading, leverage trading, and a variety of DeFi services including lending, farming, and staking.
According to the project’s website, Trader Joe was first launched in 2021 by a duo of pseudonymous full-stack developers known as Cryptofish and 0xMurloc. The Trader Joe team consists of 15 people with extensive collective experience in software development, marketing, and community management. Focusing on DeFi, the exchange aims to create a platform that is innovative, quick, safe, and provides a relatable brand that offers a community-first approach. Since its launch, the platform has handled over $1.5 billion in assets.
JOE is the native token of the Trader Joe DEX. It is both the governance and utility token within the Trader Joe ecosystem. Token holders can vote on community proposals and also earn rewards that are generated as part of the exchange’s revenue.
