Jetstar’s New Zealand flight sale offers $188 return fares
New Jetstar sale discounts fares through summer and ski season 2017.

Cross-Tasman flights have dipped down to just $188 return in the latest Jetstar sale.
The budget carrier is offering discounted flights from Australia to Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown, Nelson, Palmerston North and Napier.
While one-way fares are advertised from $125 on the airline’s site, we’ve found that booking return tickets comes out to much cheaper than the price of two one-way fares.
Sample fares in the sale include Melbourne to Auckland or Christchurch for $188 return, Gold Coast to Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch for $192 return and Sydney to Auckland for $192 return.
These $188 flights from Melbourne to Auckland are almost half the price of the next-cheapest fares, which come from Virgin Australia at $360 return.
Unlike Virgin’s offering, Jetstar sale fares don’t include extras like checked baggage, in-flight entertainment, meals or drinks. If you add these perks (not including entertainment, which can’t be booked online), Jetstar’s fare comes in at $256 return - still more than $100 less than Virgin.
These flights are also cheaper than what Jetstar offered in its last New Zealand flight sale in September, where fares started at $196 return.
Flights are available during various periods throughout 2017, including January until March, May until June and July until September. This is ideal for those looking for anything from a summer road trip in New Zealand to a winter ski getaway on the South Island.
This Jetstar sale ends at 11:59pm AEDT on 2 December.
