The weekend is on its way and Jetstar has given us all a reason to cheer by dropping its Weekend Fare Frenzy sale.

South Australians will be happy to know the cheapest fare in this deal is from Adelaide to Melbourne from just $29 one way – how good?

Here are more Jetstar sale prices we think are worth highlighting:

  • Newcastle to Brisbane from $49 one way
  • Melbourne to Ballina Byron from $65 one way
  • Brisbane to Townsville from $69 one way
  • Hobart to Adelaide from $69 one way

Replace "G'day" with "Kia ora" with these Melbourne to New Zealand fares:

  • Melbourne to Auckland from $169 one way
  • Melbourne to Christchurch from $175 one way
  • Melbourne to Queenstown from $205 one way

Flights depart this winter and early spring, with select dates from mid-July to mid-September 2021. Great timing for those who wish to visit the ski slopes of Mt Buller in Victoria or fly further for the New Zealand ski fields.

How good are these Jetstar sale fares?

At $29 a pop, Jetstar is offering fares between Adelaide and Melbourne for $3 cheaper than its EOFY sale. However, as we told you then, you can fly with Rex for the same July to September period from just $40. While it's $11 more, you'll save money in the long run with Rex, as you'll get checked baggage and refreshments included in your airfare – add-ons you'll have to pay extra for with Jetstar.

The New Zealand flights are where you can really save money. Jetstar's Melbourne to Auckland flights (from $169 one way) for July to September are the cheapest we could find comparing on Skyscanner. Air New Zealand is the next cheapest from $291, so you save nearly 40% flying with Jetstar.

This Jetstar sale is available until 11:59pm AEST 12 July 2021, unless sold out prior.

These fares at a glance

  • Good flexibility: Add Jetstar's FareCredit to your airfare for security. It's valid for 3 years from purchase. The FareCredit covers your ticket and any extras in case you need to cancel. All bookings with Jetstar vouchers will be returned if the flight is cancelled or affected by border restrictions.
  • Good airline: Jetstar aims to get you from A to B as cheaply as possible. You get what you pay for – checked luggage and refreshments come at extra cost.
  • Great travel time: Stress less with direct flights in this Jetstar sale.
  • Okay weather: We think March to May is the best time to visit Melbourne, but it's a city that always has something on. There's tons to see and do in Australia's "most European" city. The Great Ocean Road is prime for a road trip, as there are fewer people on the road this time of year and accommodation will be cheaper.
