Calling all holiday-seekers! Jetstar has dropped its Return for Free sale and we've found some pretty enticing Byron Bay flights.
Take off to Ballina Byron from Sydney starting from $73 return or Melbourne from $116 return.
Let's talk savings. We compared the Sydney-Ballina Byron sale fares from Jetstar's Return for Free sale to the airline's previous Weekend Fare Frenzy offer. The last promotion had fares going for $49 each way, compared to the $36.50 one way flights currently available. That's a saving of $25 on a return fare which is much better spent on a Byron Bay breakfast if you ask us.
When can you fly? The travel dates run between 18 April and 23 June 2021. Keep in mind that specific dates may apply.

How good are these fares?
- Flexibility: Great. Simply add Jetstar's FareCredit to your airfare. This can be added for a fee during the check-out process and allows you to get a credit note if you need to cancel. Vouchers given due to COVID-19 disruptions are valid for travel up to 31 December 2023. In addition, all bookings with Jetstar vouchers will be returned if the flight is cancelled or affected by border restrictions.
- Airline: Good. Jetstar is a low-cost airline. This means that checked baggage, in-flight meals and entertainment aren't included in your airfares but can be added for an extra fee.
- Travel time: Great. Get to the New South Wales north coast sooner rather than later with direct flights.
- Weather: Okay. The best time to visit Byron Bay is between September and November. Although the travel dates don't run over the ideal weather period, we'd recommend heading across in June for the cheapest travel. You'll also avoid the large crowds that tend to flock to the seaside town during the peak season.
