It's time to say kia ora because crossing the Tasman just got a whole lot cheaper.

If you're looking for some cheap-as-chips fares to get you across the ditch, Jetstar's latest deal is for you.

Those of you on the Gold Coast score the cream of the crop with flights to Auckland from $165 a pop. That's basically $300 return, not bad Jetstar.

The trans-Tasman routes continue with:

  • Gold Coast to Wellington from $187 one way
  • Melbourne to Christchurch from $199 one way
  • Sydney to Auckland from $199 one way
  • Melbourne to Queenstown from $269 one way

The good news keeps on coming if you're a Club Jetstar member with fares kicking off from $155 each way.

Travel dates run from late-July to mid-September and mid-October to mid-December 2021. This means you have your choice of a snow-filled winter wonderland or a summer retreat on shores abroad.

Don't waste another minute to score these cheap flights to New Zealand. Head to KAYAK now.

How do these fares stack up?

These are the cheapest seats to New Zealand that we've seen since the trans-Tasman travel bubble opened.

Jetstar fares to our Kiwi neighbours started from $399 each way when the bubble was being announced, making this deal $234 cheaper on each leg of the flight.

Although these fares aren't a part of a specific sale, that doesn't mean they won't go flying off the shelves. Get your slice of the pie before seats sell out.

How good are these fares?

  • Flexibility: Good. Add FareCredit at checkout which offers a credit for the value of your fare plus any in-flight extras in the case that you cancel. Vouchers are valid for up to three years from the issue date. In addition, all bookings with Jetstar vouchers will be returned if the flight is cancelled or affected by border restrictions.
  • Airline: Good. Jetstar is Australia's only low cost carrier. This means that checked baggage, in-flight meals and entertainment aren't included in your fares but can be added for an extra fee.
  • Travel time: Great. Enjoy direct flights across the Tasman.
  • Weather: Great. If you're after some fun in the snow then we recommend heading to New Zealand between June and August. The eligible travel dates run from July to September, offering the perfect time to get amongst the slopes this upcoming season. Or, if you want to do some serious sight-seeing, then December provides the most comfortable temperatures to do so.
