Our answer? All of them.

Air India is quenching our thirst for authentic Italian food and fashion with flights to some of its biggest cities, including Rome and Italy, with fares as low as $916 return.

Travel is on specific summer dates between July and September, but if you're not the kind to fiddle around with dates to find those perfectly priced fares, I Want That Flight has a list of all the cheapest combinations to make it easier for you.

According to the booking site, the lowest fare is for journeys between Sydney and Milan for $916 departing 26 July and returning 4 September. Sounds like a long holiday, but this does mean you'll get to bask in all that Italian sun and gives you the opportunity to travel internally around Europe. Some flights may also include long layovers in Delhi. We've had a look into these though and many are overnight, allowing you a night's rest, and the potential to explore Delhi before continuing your journey.

Melbourne to Milan flights on Air India are also available from $943 return.

For flights to Rome, the cheapest from Sydney are currently with Asiana Airlines for journeys in November and January. These fares start at $944 return. From Melbourne, flights are available for $1,058 return departing in April 2018 on Thai Airways.

The last notable sale to Italy was on Thai Airways in April, where fares were similarly priced at just under $1,000. Like this sale, it was an all inclusive flight during favourable weather, making this one of the best deals at the moment.
