Jet boating in the Gold Coast is a popular adventure sport for thrill-seekers and an alternative to traditional sightseeing cruises. Not to be confused with a jet ski (which is smaller), jet boats are built to thrill up to 18 passengers at a time – think of it like a roller coaster on the water.
It’s an adrenaline-pumping way to let your hair down and also a popular activity for corporate team building. Some jet boating companies in the Gold Coast are affiliated with other adventure tourism operations so, for example, you can save money by booking a jet boat ride and helicopter experience in one.
What happens on a Gold Coast jet boat ride?
Jet boats are designed to go fast and maneuver at high speeds, and in shallow water. It’s a thrilling experience with stunts and spins that will get you shrieking – don’t worry you’re harnessed in! It’s also a chance to see the sights of the Gold Coast like Broadbeach, Marina Mirage, Stradbroke Island and Moreton Bay Marine Park where you may even spot dolphins and other marine life. Most rides have professional photography and souvenirs which you can purchase at the end.

Some jet boats (like Ocean Jet) are enclosed, meaning no worries about getting your gear wet.

Not unless you want to ruin your phone! Pretty much all of the jet boat companies take photographs of the experience which are included or you can purchase at the end, along with souvenirs.
