Taking off from 5 Aussie cities with all flights under $650.

Chocolate hills, sleepy Spanish towns, volcano hiking and extreme island hopping are all on the agenda in the Philippines and Qantas has a sale to help you explore it all.

The latest Qantas Fly Away sale has flights to Manila from Sydney starting at $599 return.

You can also find discounted fares from Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra and Brisbane to Manila from $649.

Travel dates start as soon as 14 July 2019 for any last minute planners and run through to 31 May 2020, not including major holiday periods.

Flights are to Manila, so if you're keen to visit hotspots like Palawan, Boracay or Cebu, cheap domestic flights can be booked with AirAsia or Cebu Pacific.

This sale ends 12 July 2019 unless seats sell out prior. You can compare your options and make your bookings through Skyscanner here.

How good are these Manila fares?

  • Price: Good. While not as cheap as budget airline Cebu Pacific's recent sale for $278 return, these are still pretty decent prices for a full-service airline.
  • Airline: Great. As a full-service carrier your checked luggage, in-flight meals and entertainment are all included in your fare.
  • Frequent Flyer Points: Qantas Frequent Flyer members can earn at least 5,200 points and 60 status credits in this sale based on flights from Sydney to Manila.
  • Travel time: Good. Flights from Sydney are direct while other cities have a stopover in Sydney.
  • Weather: Great. You've got almost a full year of travel dates to work with but we suggest aiming for either May or November if you're flexible. These are the best months to visit the Philippines when the weather is pleasant but the crowds are much less than the peak months.
