It’s official: Baby boomers love travelling to Europe
London, Paris, Rome and more – they're all popular with this generation of travellers.
The 4-star airline has crunched the numbers on its guests and uncovered where they're all flying to on their airline. For baby boomers, the destination on the top of their lists is London with Rome and Paris not far behind.
Perhaps this generation of travellers is visiting relatives or they've simply fallen in love with the history and beauty of the continent.
Then again, maybe they're just looking to cash in on the longest Emirates flight they can with their Skywards points, with 55% off baby boomers found to be using their points on Emirates upgrades.
Whatever the case, the full suite of top 10 destinations baby boomers are flying to on Emirates are in Europe.
The data also revealed that the average trip length baby boomers are spending away is 20 days and that they're taking off on Emirates around twice per year.
"It’s no surprise that baby boomer travellers are continuing to pursue new travel experiences, no matter what age," said Tim Shepherd, Emirates' national accounts manager in Australia. "Europe is a natural fit for this, offering travellers the opportunity to explore some of the world’s most iconic landmarks, immerse themselves in different cultures or go on a new adventure."
In total, Emirates flies into 39 European destinations, which accounts for 27% of its entire network. So there was always a good chance a few European cities would be up there on any Emirates guest's radar.
It doesn't hurt either that Emirates constantly boasts flight sales to Europe.
