Pick up an iPhone 12 Pro on a reasonably priced plan, complete with all the data you could ever need.

It took a little while from the original 12 launch, but the iPhone 12 Pro has finally arrived. You can get one on a phone plan from the three major carriers – Telstra, Vodafone and Optus – with the iPhone 12 Mini and Pro Max models up for pre-order tomorrow.

The main upgrade for the Pro compared to the base model is an extra camera lens that allows for better zoom on photos. This feature raises the outright retail price to $1,699, around $350 more than the regular iPhone 12, so buying it on a plan can help you pay off the bigger price tag in manageable chunks.

"Unlimited" data options with the iPhone 12 Pro

If you're worried about running out of data with your new iPhone, there's good news: all three major carriers offer "unlimited" data in some form or another. Telstra and Vodafone include it by default on their plans, while Optus has it available as a temporary add-on.

It's important to note that the unlimited data from Telstra and Vodafone comes with a catch – once you hit a certain threshold, your download speed will be reduced, making browsing and streaming slower than usual.

Save $600 over 12 months on Telstra's XL plan

Check out Telstra's iPhone 12 Pro plans below. You can choose between repayment periods of 12 or 24 months, but the shorter your repayment period, the higher the monthly instalments will be.

Once you've run out of full speed data for the month, you'll be able to keep browsing without excess charges, but at a reduced rate of 1.5Mbps. Other features you get with Telstra include:

Add 10GB to your phone plan for just $10 a month with Optus

You can see Optus' iPhone 12 Pro offerings below. Repayment periods are 12, 24, or 36 months, with shorter periods meaning higher monthly repayments.

Optus offers truly unlimited, full speed data, but only for a limited timeframe. $5 will get you 24 hours of unlimited full speed browsing and downloads on the Unlimited Data Day deal. Other Optus features include:

  • Data sharing between Optus plans
  • Exclusive Optus Sport access

Until 30 November, get bonus data on your plan with Vodafone

Grab an iPhone 12 Pro on a 12-, 24- or 36-month plan with Vodafone, shown below. Vodafone's plans are some of the cheapest around, and with its bonus data offer running until the end of the month, its plans are even more attractive.

Vodafone's unlimited data is similar to Telstra's, in that your download speed gets reduced once you exceed a monthly data threshold. The difference is that this capped speed ranges from 2-25Mbps, depending on which plan you purchase.

Right now, you can get three months of Amazon Prime free from Vodafone when you sign up.
