Credit where credit is due: MUBI isn't some Netflix wannabe. It's something truly different. Every day its curators hand-pick and "release" a beautiful cult, classic or award-winning film and you have 30 days to watch it, either by streaming said movie via your device or by downloading it to watch offline at your leisure. Obviously, the downside is you're losing the element of choice as there's no glut of content at your fingertips, like you'd see on rival services like Netflix. But, on the plus side you're getting spoon-fed nothing but the best. Side bonus: MUBI will make you a film buff in no time!
Whether you're in the mood to watch a moody film noir, a criminally under-loved arthouse gem, an amusing French New Wave romp or that offbeat documentary film that lit up Rotten Tomatoes recently, connoisseurs will be well-fed with unforgettable entertainment via MUBI.
MUBI offers one tier of paid membership for $9.99. With it you'll get a new film every day and the pool of movies to choose from is always kept at a max/min of 30. Those of you concerned about a catch, where you have to sit through ads, need worry no more. MUBI has an ironclad guarantee that this will never happen to its service.
It's pretty difficult to give you an accurate description of the sorts of content that MUBI has on offer as its listing is always eclectic and rapidly changing. Basically, as described earlier, what you're getting is 30 movies a month that are critically acclaimed in some way. Personally, I've noticed that MUBI's curators lean quite heavily towards world cinema, obscure cult hits and other cerebral offerings. If you go in expecting Hollywood blockbusters and other mainstream popcorn fare you're going to be disappointed.

Yes, but it's one of those "strings attached" deals. New subscribers who select a monthly recurring plan for MUBI can have a trial of one week. This requires you to hand over some payment details, be they a major credit card or a PayPal account. The onus is on you to cancel your subscription before it renews in order to avoid billing of the next period's subscription fees to your payment method.
MUBI is well entrenched in the streaming market and is available, typically via an official downloadable app, on many different devices and platforms. In addition to being able to watch movies on its homepage, MUBI is available around the world on iOS and Android devices, Apple TV (4th gen), LG TV and Telstra TV.
It's even supported on what are usually considered "closed systems" like Samsung and Sony Bravia TVs/Blu-ray players from 2013 onwards. Gamers can also get their MUBI on via the proprietary stores used by Sony's PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles. Sadly, MUBI is not currently featured on Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms.

When products are grouped in a table or list, the order in which they are initially sorted may be influenced by a range of factors including price, fees and discounts; commercial partnerships; product features; and brand popularity. Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labelling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
