Home Box Office (HBO) is one of the most popular pay TV services in America, having amassed a subscriber base of over 49 million US residents since it began broadcasting back in 1972. Much of the network's success stems from its focus on airing the latest movies and, recently, on airing HBO-exclusive TV series like Game of Thrones, Westworld, and True Detective. Where HBO really distinguishes itself from competing pay TV services, though, is with bespoke channels like HBO Plus.

What is HBO Plus?

HBO Plus is one of HBO's Latin American channels, rebroadcasting movies and TV shows from HBO's primary channels dubbed in Spanish and Portuguese, 24 hours a day. Like other channels broadcast by HBO's Latin America division, the content is tailored to a Hispanic and Latin American audience, with original Spanish and Portuguese TV series and Spanish-language sports and entertainment events as well as dubbed versions of Hollywood movies and HBO TV shows.

What movies and TV shows are available on HBO Plus?

Most of the content on HBO Plus consists of rebroadcasts from HBO and HBO2. Movies run the gamut from recent titles like The Jungle Book, Creed and Hotel Transylvania 2 to older fare like Jurassic Park, The Matrix Reloaded and Enemy of the State. On the TV front, you'll find shows like Game of Thrones, Entourage, Silicon Valley and Veep.

Some of the original Latin American programming featured on HBO Plus includes the late-night talk show Chumel Con Chumel Torres, the sports documentary series Destino Deporte and the romantic drama Magnífica 70.

Can I get HBO Plus in Australia?

Unfortunately, no. HBO Plus is exclusive to Latin America, with various cable providers across South America offering packages with HBO Plus included. Some HBO Plus content is available through Foxtel and Foxtel Now, however.
