India go into the tournament as one of the favourites and boast the tournament's most-capped player in former captain MS Dhoni and arguably the greatest ever limited-overs batsman, captain Virat Kohli.
Kohli will lead from the front with the bat and in the field as India aim to win a third World Cup, after victories in 1983 and 2011. His importance can't be underestimated and he has been integral in India's transformation as a force away from home.
India also boast an exciting and well-rounded bowling line-up, with three of the top eight ODI players in the rankings. Jasprit Bumrah (1st), Kuldeep Yadav (7th) and Yuzvendra Chahal (8th) will cause problems for lots of teams and the depth of bowling options is added to by Bhuvneshwar Kumar (15th). Bumrah and Kumar especially could be dangerous in English conditions.
The batting isn't just reliant on the aforementioned Kohli (1st) either, as he will be supported by Rohit Sharma (2nd) and Shikhar Dhawan (13th), who will look to lay the foundations at the top of the order for Kohli and Dhoni to build on.
If India's batting and bowling both manage to click they'll be a very difficult team to beat and are rightly one of the favourites for the tournament.
