HTC Desire 628: Australian pricing, specifications and availability

Alex Kidman 13 July 2016 NEWS

HTC’s latest handset is the mid-range, affordably priced Desire 628.

The HTC 10 sits at the top of HTC’s current product tree, but that doesn’t mean it’s a one-phone company. Its latest offering to hit the Australian market is the Desire 628. HTC’s Desire phones used to be the company’s flagships, but it’s now a branding generally associated with mid-range or budget offerings. With a $299 outright price point, that’s definitely where the HTC Desire 628 sits.

With an octo-core 1.3GHz processor and 2GB of RAM, the Desire 628 is likely to hit exactly the kind of performance point you’d expect of a phone at this point. The inbuilt camera is 13MP/5MP, with 16GB of storage expandable via microSD. You don’t get HTC’s Boomsound speakers, but HTC does provide a "Boomsound" headphone profile for music listeners.

The HTC Desire 628 is available from today an outright purchase option only through JB Hi-Fi stores.

Are the HTC Desire 530, 510 and 628 all $G capable?

      Hello Mark,

      Thanks for your question.

Only the HTC Desire 530 and 510 are 3G capable. The Desire 500 does not have this feature. You may also confirm your service provider if they have a 3G or 4G service covered in your area as not all locations have this type of service.

      Hope this helps.
