British Formula 1 Grand Prix

The storied British Formula 1 Grand Prix at Silverstone is next on the agenda as the season continues. This is how to watch.

Since the 2020 Formula 1 season was finally able to get underway in early July, a number of elements have gradually returned to normal. Through three races, Lewis Hamilton is atop the driver standings, Red Bull are Mercedes's nearest challengers and a number of other teams are struggling with reliability.

Next up is the British F1 GP at Silverstone. It is unfortunate that fans still won't be in attendance this weekend, but at least the cars will be racing around the famous circuit. Hamilton will be an overwhelming favourite here.

There was also a little drama leading up to the race, with Racing Point's Sergio Perez ruled out after testing positive to COVID-19.

When is the British Formula 1 Grand Prix?

The grand prix is being held from Friday to Sunday, 31 July to 2 August. Qualifying starts at 11pm on Saturday, with the race commencing at 11:10pm AEST on Sunday 2 August.

Who will win British Formula 1 Grand Prix?

No prizes for guessing who we're leaning towards here. The more things change these days, the more they seem to stay the same in F1. After a fourth place in the opening race in Austria, Lewis Hamilton has won the past two races to assume his customary place atop the standings. We expect him to make it a hat-trick.

From an Australian perspective, Daniel Ricciardo has managed to pick up points in the past two races. Here's hoping that can continue in his Renault.
