What is IRISnet?

IRIS is the native utility token of the IRIS Network. This network is essentially a blockchain framework that allows interaction between various blockchains and the applications built on them. The blockchain is called the IRIS Hub. It's built using the Cosmos project’s technology. In addition to supporting token transfers across blockchains, it also allows resource computation and data consumption from different systems. The blockchain uses a Bonded Proof of Stake (BPoS) consensus model, which is a variation of the Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) model that allows token stakers to earn additional rewards in proportion to the tokens staked. Currently, the network allows only 100 validators who are chosen based on the amount of IRIS tokens you stake and the number of tokens other users on the network delegate to you.

IRISnet (IRIS) is the 433rd largest cryptocurrency in the world by market cap, valued at $119,229,145. The current price of IRISnet is $0.100146, which is 9.445% higher than yesterday. What to consider when buying IRISnet

Before you add IRIS to your investment portfolio, you should consider these factors:
  • Technical backing: The protocol is developed using the technical expertise of Bianjie AI, a high-tech firm based in China, and Tendermint, the creators of the Cosmos project. It's also involved in China’s Blockchain Service Network, which is the state-backed blockchain project. Such backing reduces the chance of failure and improves the chances of mass adoption.
  • Liquidity: Due to the backing this project has, its native token IRIS is listed on major crypto exchanges such as Binance, Huobi Global, and, which ensures that there is robust liquidity for this token. Due to China’s involvement in this project, it initially focussed on the Chinese and Korean markets, but is now expanding its reach into global markets.
  • Governance: IRIS is also the governance token of the protocol. It has an integral role in its governance. The overall total supply has a 4% inflation rate since the validators are distributed block rewards. The inflation rate is decided through on-chain governance via token holders.
