What is BORA?

BORA is a blockchain platform that aims to distribute digital content into a decentralised space. It is built on top of an Ethereum Layer-2 network. Though initially focusing on mobile video games, according to the company website, BORA intends to expand its digital reach to establish blockchain in "your daily life". The project’s innovative in-game model prevents price-hiking by allowing users to perform peer-to-peer transactions within games. Since its launch, the BORA dApp service currently has over 50 million gamers using its services. Unlike other decentralised gaming platforms that create new games (and so, a new audience), BORA plans to migrate already-popular games onto their network and, therefore, retain a large user base. Founded in South Korea, BORA works in collaboration with other major Asia-based blockchains such as Klaytn to help grow the ecosystem. BORA is an ERC-20 (Ethereum-based) token native to the platform. It is used to buy, sell and trade games within BORA-based digital applications. Tokens can also be used for in-app purchases and as an incentive for users to adopt the platform. Uniquely, the gaming platform uses a dual-token structure to help avoid the high gas fees prominent with Ethereum. The second coin is called SHELL and can be exchanged directly for BORA.

BORA (BORA) is in the top 1,000 cryptocurrencies in the world by market cap. The current price of BORA is $0.194353, which is 1.462% higher than yesterday. What to consider when buying BORA

All cryptocurrency purchases should be fully evaluated for both risk and potential upside. With regards to BORA (BORA) here are a few things to consider:
  • Available information. The importance of having easy-to-access, in-depth information on cryptocurrency developments is paramount when investing in such a speculative industry. When it comes to information about BORA, the Internet is almost barren. Outside of Twitter and the whitepaper, it is difficult to source independent analysis of services.
  • Competition. While BORA intends to expand features to encompass all digital content, the company is currently pigeonholed as a blockchain-based gaming platform. This is a saturated market, with Xaya, Forte and Mythical Games just a few of the hundreds of developers invested in blockchain gaming.
  • Development. For BORA to be successful, the project needs to continue adding more games to the platform. As of July 2021, there are only 4 apps available for download from the website. It may be worth following the project’s progression in the space before deciding whether or not to invest in the native token.
