Hourglass Cosmetics is committing to go fully vegan
To celebrate World Vegan Day yesterday, one of our favourite luxury brands has made a promise.
Hourglass Cosmetics is known for its incredibly luxe beauty products, but to top it off, as of yesterday evening it has officially committed to going fully vegan by 2020 and we are so excited!
The brand has always been very environmentally-friendly with a lot of their products already vegan, however this announcement has begun the charge to rid the remaining products of any non-vegan ingredients like beeswax or carmine.
Our favourite Hourglass product, the Ambient Lighting Powder, is already vegan but we can't wait to see some of our non-vegan favourites make the change – we're looking at you, Gel Eye Liners!
Not only is Hourglass Cosmetics making the change personally, the brand is also encouraging other beauty companies to follow suit and create a more animal-friendly industry.

As if that's not enough good news, the brand is also launching a gorgeous vegan leather makeup clutch that we are already obsessed with. All the proceeds from the clutch's purchases will go directly to the Nonhuman Rights Project (a civil rights organisation dedicated to the protection of nonhuman animals), and it's 100% in alignment with Hourglass Cosmetics' cruelty-free promise.
Hourglass Cosmetics is currently available at MECCA and if you're already vegan then there's plenty for you in the original range. Even if you're not vegan, being able to buy from a cruelty-free brand is really satisfying. We cannot wait for 2020 and a fully vegan line from Hourglass Cosmetics!
