Leave the city behind and lose yourself in Hyde Park’s leafy green sanctuary.
Hyde Park is Sydney’s oldest park and is an icon of the city. Locals gather to sunbake on its lawns while buskers appear from all directions to entertain them. The park also hosts much-loved events such as parts of the Sydney Festival each January, and the Night Noodle Markets during October. Perhaps most famously, it is also the starting point for the City2Surf race every August.
Split into two sections, on its northern side it features the magnificent Archibald Fountain, a gift by JF Archibald, after whom the annual prize for Australian portraiture is named. The south side of the park features the Anzac Memorial and Pool of Reflection.
The park is also fringed by a wealth of quality hotels, each with their own unique perspective of this Sydney icon.
