Our round-up of the best holidays you can book for $1,000 or less.

We look at holiday packages both near and far that you can hop onto for a bargain price that are on sale this week.


$829: Fly and stay Bangkok holiday packages

There are three different Bangkok holiday packages going, including flights and 3 nights' stay at luxurious hotels.

Some of them include special inclusions like tours, free upgrades and more so just look around.

It's one of the most up-and-coming destinations in Asia, and the world, so a package deal like this means it's a great time to get in there.

$799: Seven nights at a 5 star resort in Phuket, inc. flights and breakfast

If you only ever make one trip to Phuket, you'll want to do it with this deal. The five star Mandarava Resort and Spa offers an unreal range of features like yoga classes set among the greenery and waterfalls of Phuket's Karon Coast.

There are three infinity pools but you'll also find pristine beaches well within walking range. For more energy, head to nearby Bangla Road after dark. It's lined with bars, clubs and restaurants, and is closed to cars after 6pm when the action comes out onto the street.

Need to know:

  • Prices are for flights out of Perth. It's $849 out of Sydney, Melbourne or the Gold Coast and $999 out of Adelaide.
  • Price is per person, based on twin share. The cost of a second person depends on your departure city.
  • Travel available from 1 November 2017 to 30 September 2018. Blackout periods apply around Christmas.
  • Flights include 7kg of carry-on. Checked baggage will cost a bit more.
  • Deal expires midnight 30 October 2017.


$299: 3-nights in Brisbane inc. hotels and flights

Feel like a three night escape around Australia? Packages are going for as little as $299 for flights from Sydney to Brisbane plus three nights in the 4.5 star Best Western Hotel Diana. Simply booking the hotel alone would actually cost you more than grabbing this package deal.

That's such good value it's like being paid to fly off to Queensland for a mini vacation.

  • Prices are per person based on twin share
  • Flights depart from Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide


$999: 9 day tour of China, including flights and accommodation

You don't often find this kind of package so little, especially not when it includes two amazing cities (Beijing and Shanghai) and also gets you out to the countries biggest destinations, including Tiananmen Square, the Great Wall and more.

This deal includes 8-nights accommodation, most meals, international airfares, private coach transport, tour tipping, guides, sightseeing admissions and all your domestic and international transfers.

Need to know:

  • Prices are per person for a twin share.
  • Prices are for a departure from Melbourne. It's $1,399 from Perth or Brisbane
  • There are set dates to choose from, until November 2017.
  • Luggage allowance is 23kg per person


$429: Flights and 3 nights in Auckland

This is one of several deals available, but it's probably one of the best around, including return airfares and 3-nights at the VR Auckland, for less than most airfares alone would cost. The VR is a 4.5 star, but exceptionally wallet-friendly, studio apartment in Auckland city so you'll be well situated for sightseeing. Each apartment is self-contained with full kitchens, laundry and high speed internet.

As a bonus, it also includes daily continental breakfasts. That's one deal well worth getting.

  • Travel dates are 1 May 2018 to 27 June 2018.
  • Flights are with Jetstar so there may be baggage fees
