A double room at Holiday Inn Kensington in London cost £119 ($206.33) in a rate search at the time of writing in March 2018.

In a rate search carried out on the same day, a room at Crowne Plaza Kensington in London cost £140 ($242.74).

The verdict?

Holiday Inn came out cheaper than Crowne Plaza, despite being in the same location and having similar facilities such as a gym, restaurant and bar.


Any other differences worth noting?

Holiday Inn allows up to two children to stay for free with a paying adult. Plus children are also entitled to eat for free from the kids’ menu when they are dining with an adult. These policies apply at most hotels, although there are exceptions.

Crowne Plaza hotels feature quiet zones where loud conversations and ringing phones are discouraged.
