In sickness and in health

You know what they say about the honeymoon period – it doesn't last.

Interestingly though, many Australians stay with their health fund for longer than the person they pledge to spend the rest of their life with.

Wait, what?! 😲

That's right - according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the median length of marriage before separation was 8.4 years out of all marriages that ended. Now compare that to the data from our survey of over 2000 Australians - the average Aussie stays with their health fund for a whopping 11.8 years.

That sounds bizarre, but consider this – our research shows that almost a quarter of Australians have been with their health insurance provider for so long that they don't even remember when they first got it.

We must really love our health funds. Or maybe we're just lazy.¯_(ツ)_/¯
