Every Harry Potter film is returning to Netflix, but you don’t have to wait
All 8 movies in the Harry Potter franchise are heading back to Netflix next month. But you can get them all for free right now.
Netflix has announced that every movie in the Harry Potter series is returning to its platform on 15 July. That's great news for all the budding wizards and Muggles out there.
In January last year, Netflix suddenly pulled Harry from the platform with little explanation. The company apologised some time later and blamed licensing issues.
For now, there are other ways to check back in with Harry, Ron, Hermione and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named without having to wait another 3 weeks.
Fellow streaming platforms BINGE and Foxtel Now currently boast all of the Hogwarts movies. Like, right now. If you are new to either platform, they both offer a free trial so you can set aside time to watch the magic for zero cost.
BINGE has a full 2-week free trial available to new subscribers. After the free trial, it starts from just $10 per month for the basic package.
Even if you are already a BINGE subscriber, it is still a cheaper option for watching Harry Potter than Netflix. The cheapest Netflix subscription starts from $10.99 per month. But neither of those options give you access to HD.
There's a $1.99 difference between both the Netflix ($15.99) and BINGE ($14) middle tier Standard monthly packages which is where HD starts.
Foxtel Now offers a slightly shorter 10-day free trial. Once the 10 days are up, its subscriptions start from $25 per month.
It's also worth noting that Netflix no longer offers free trials. So unless you're already a subscriber or part of the 8 million Aussies "borrowing" their friends' or families' Netflix passwords, you'll need to pay to watch.
Those that are planning to check out BINGE or Foxtel Now, or if you are already a subscriber, fear not the Harry Potter movies are remaining on both platforms alongside the return to Netflix.
What else is coming to Netflix?
Harry and his pals aren't the only content dropping onto Netflix next month. You can catch other programs like Outer Banks season 2, season 3 of Virgin River, the second season of Never Have I Ever or more adventures of Rick and Morty in season 5.
