Harmony is a fast and open blockchain for decentralised applications. It aims to build a trustless and gas-efficient bridge that acts as an extension for Ethereum applications and assets. According to the founder Stephen Tse, the Harmony transactions attract 1,000 times lower fees than Ethereum. It is designed to be an open platform where the validator community owns the network governance. The Harmony platform is powered by the native ONE token. It can be used to pay for fees across the network, and also to reward users who stake the tokens to secure the Harmony blockchain. In the future, the ONE token will also be used for governance.
