Hamilton Island weather: When should I visit?
One of the best things about Hamilton Island is the sunny, comfortable, subtropical climate that ranges between 23 and 30 degrees Celsius, all year round. It does have tourist seasons so when you choose to travel really depends on the kind of trip you are planning on.
January to March tends to be wetter and slightly hotter than other months. It’s the "school holidays" so expect families and lots of activities and playmates for the kids.
April to June is one of the mildest times of year to visit and a good time to plan weddings and other events as you are less likely to encounter a sudden downfall of tropical rain. Easter fills up with families for the school holidays.
July to September is officially the coolest time of year to visit and holidayers can expect lows of 23 degrees (chilly for Queensland!) but warm sunny days. This period also sees the Hamilton Island Audi Race Week, and is a popular time for sailors and sailing aficionados.
October to December is hot and sunny with long, warm summer nights. It is the most popular time to visit Hamilton Island, especially the weeks leading up to and during Christmas and New Year. Come for a festive mood and lots of end-of-year celebrations.
