What’s in Gucci’s 1977 tennis shoe collection?
The mega fashion label has just relaunched its retro sneakers in new designs featuring Mickey Mouse, GG prints and more.
The sneaker trend is officially here to stay and Gucci is helping you to embrace it with a high fashion twist on its classic tennis shoe. Digging the Tennis 1977 silhouette out from the archives, the label just dropped seven iterations of the retro low-profile sneaker.
The kicks arrive in a mix of different materials, colours and motifs, with both new and archived styles up for grabs. The collection sees four pairs of men's and three pairs of women's sneakers available now from the Gucci website.
First up from the men's line is a pair of Mickey Mouse shoes, tapping the recent Disney x Gucci collaboration. The playful kicks come in a beige, cream and forest green colourway with an all-over print of your favourite cartoon mouse.
Next, a blue and ivory iteration sees the House's monogram motif take the forefront of the design, with pops of forest green and red rounding out the style.
A pair of black cotton sneakers arrives in a worn design with blue and red webbing, while an off-white cotton edition features a cord-like upper.
The highlight of the women's range is a pair of cream kicks decorated with an adorable cherry-themed take on the GG logo. Pops of bright red and forest green continue the colour theme, while a grey trim decorates the midsole.
Similar to the men's line, a pair of light blue cotton sneakers sees an all-over GG logo print, while the same off-white cotton iteration arrives in women's sizes.
Each pair of the Tennis 1977 sneakers also features Gucci's iconic stripe of the mid-panel, a wavy stripe on the midsole and heritage branding on the tongue tab. Prices range from $840-$935.
In other sneaker news, PUMA just dropped a new Cali Glow range which takes on three classic silhouettes and updates them with holographic panelling and pastel hues.
