Delivery fees and times

Both Coles and Woolworths offer next-day delivery. You need to order in the morning if you want a next-day AM delivery and order in the evening if you want a next-day PM delivery.

  • No delivery for orders less than $30.
  • Choose from morning, daytime or evening delivery times and track your order to see when it will arrive.

Coles

  • No delivery for orders less than $50.
  • The delivery fee varies by location, chosen delivery time and whether you choose a three-hour or an eight-hour delivery window. It’s generally between $4 and $18 in metro areas.
  • You can get free delivery on orders of over $150 (excluding tobacco products) when selecting an eight-hour delivery window, or on orders of over $100 when using a Coles Credit Card.

Cutoffs and cancellation fees

The cutoff time is the latest time that you can order online for a next-day delivery. Any cancellations after this time might incur a fee. Note that cutoff times may vary in special delivery areas.

Cancellation fees

If you cancel your order after the cutoff time, you may need to pay a cancellation fee:

  • Woolworths: You may be charged for the cost of perishables.
  • Coles: You will be charged a flat fee of $30.

Which has cheaper delivery?

Use the up-to-date prices above to see which grocery store is cheaper for you. In terms of delivery:

  • For orders over $30 and under $50: You can only get delivery with Woolworths.
  • For orders over $100: You can get free delivery with Coles by using a Coles Credit Card.
  • For orders over $150: You can get free delivery with Coles by choosing an 8-hour delivery window.
  • For orders over $200: Delivery will generally be cheaper with Woolworths.
  • For orders over $300: You can get free delivery with Woolworths.

Special delivery areas

In remote areas, ordering your groceries online might cost you more and you may have different cutoff times. Special offers, such as free delivery, may not be available in regional areas.

Other special delivery areas include islands. Contact the store for more information on grocery deliveries to:

  • Hamilton Island. Coles does not deliver here.
  • Lord Howe Island. Woolworths posts its delivery windows for Lord Howe Island a week before the delivery times.
  • Magnetic Island, Macleay Island, North Stradbroke Island, Russell Island, Lamp Island and Karragarra Island. Woolworths delivery cutoffs are 6pm the night before, or 3pm on Sundays.
