When it comes to cheap flights into Europe, it's hard to better Scoot. The Singapore-based budget airline flies into Athens for a fraction of the price of full-service airlines and with a sale running, the savings are that much more.
Flights in this sale start at $652 return. Yes, return. Take off is from Perth; however, there are plenty of sale flights out of other Australian cities as well. This includes Gold Coast-Athens fares from $692 return, Sydney-Athens fares from $697 return and Melbourne-Athens fares from $712 return.
Typically, flights to Athens on Scoot start from $369 each way, or $738 return, which is cheap already. So getting them for $86 less is not just a bargain, it's a gift.
One of the downsides to this deal is that the flights are not direct and require a stopover in Singapore. They're also light fares that don't include checked luggage, on-board meals or in-flight entertainment. However, you can add these for a fee during or after checkout.
Travel dates range from February to May 2018, which are ideal if you wish to visit mainland Greece and explore its ruins and history sans the beating summer sun.
