How to File a Claim With Good2Go Domestic Travel Insurance

Travel insurance compensates you for any loss you encounter during your trip, but you have to file a claim with your insurer so they know exactly what your loss is and whether you qualify for compensation. With Good2Go domestic travel insurance, making a claim is straightforward, and the insurers do their best to process your claim as fast as possible. There are some conditions you must adhere to while making your claim. To begin with, you are required to file your claim with AIG within 30 days of completing your trip. You must also provide your Certificate of Insurance.

You can make your claim online by visiting the company’s website or by calling them directly. Proof of ownership is required with your claim so that the insurer can confirm that the lost items actually belong to you, which is why documents such as original invoices, receipts and vouchers relating to your loss or expense must accompany your claim. Will I have to pay excess on my policy?

Yes, you may sometimes be required to pay excess if you make certain claim. Excess is the amount you need to pay should you make a claim on your travel insurance policy. The insurer will then cover you for the remaining amount up to the limit on your insurance cover, and the excess amount is usually subtracted from your claim. The excess payable on any particular claim and when it applies is usually described on your policy wording. For domestic trips, the excess payable on a one-trip plan is $50.

Who can be insured under one policy?

For domestic travellers, the single cover plan covers you and your children or grandchildren who are aged below 25 and who are accompanying you on your domestic trip. The family cover plan will cover your spouse, de facto partner or any travelling companion who is named on your Certificate of insurance. Children or grandchildren who are below 25 years who are travelling with you and who are dependent on you financially are also covered.

Can I extend my domestic travel insurance?

Yes. Should you decide to prolong your domestic trip, you can extend your cover for up to 12 months from the departure date stated in your Certificate of Insurance. This can only be done prior to the expiry date on your initial policy.
