What does the Go Insurance Go Plus Plan Cover?

The Go Plus plan for Go Insurance is a premium policy designed to offer you the greatest protection possible while you are travelling. With Go Plus travel insurance you will be covered for:

  • Cancellation and curtailment. A benefit if your trip is cancelled or cut short because of the death, accidental injury or illness of yourself, your travelling companion, a family member or business partner. You can also claim in the event of being detained for quarantine, hijacking, bad weather or the issuing of a travel warning.
  • Resumption of trip. If your trip is curtailed, Go Insurance provides a benefit amount to allow you to resume your trip when you are able.
  • Overseas medical expenses. Covers you for medical, surgical, hospital, ambulance and nursing treatments and costs, plus transportation of remains, and additional travel and accommodation for someone to accompany you.
  • Hospital cash benefit. Pays you a cash benefit for each day you are hospitalised overseas as the result of illness or injury.
  • Death and accidental injury benefit. Pays a benefit if you are involved in an accident that results in your death, or the loss of sight, loss of limbs or total and permanent disablement within 12 months of an injury you suffered while travelling.
  • Mugging. You can receive a benefit if you are admitted to hospital as the result of injuries sustained in a mugging.
  • Personal property. A benefit paid in the event your personal items are lost, stolen or damaged, and your insurance will pay to repair or replace them.
  • Luggage delays. Provides you a benefit to purchase emergency personal effects if your luggage is misdirected or delayed by your carrier for more than 24 hours.
  • Personal money and passport. You can claim for the theft of personal money, as well as reasonable accommodation and administration costs to have a passport replaced.
  • Disrupted scheduled plans. Reasonable accommodation expenses are covered if your travel is delayed by at least 12 hours.
  • Hijacking. You will receive a benefit amount for every full 24 hour period you spend detained because of the hijacking of an aircraft or crew you are travelling with.
  • Special events. You can claim reasonable alternative transport costs if you had to make alternative arrangements to reach a special event such as a funeral, wedding, conference or major sporting event, because your prearranged transport was late.
  • Travel services provider insolvent. Go Insurance will pay you the costs for travel, accommodation, car hire and tours which you cannot recover from anywhere else if your travel provider goes out of business. Alternatively your insurer can pay for reasonable costs of alternative arrangements so you can continue with your original plans.
  • Domestic pets. Cover for additional boarding for pets if your return home is delayed outside of your control.
  • Personal liability. Means you are covered for legal expenses and proceedings if you become legally liable for the accidental injury or death of another person, or the accidental damage to property. You are also entitled to a separate benefit amount for legal expenses in relation to a claim for compensation or damages.
  • Overseas hire car excess. If your rental vehicle is stolen or involved in an accident while in your care, your travel insurance will pay the excess amount, as well as the amount to return the vehicle to the nearest depot.
