Finder Beauty Fave: Ginger&Me Neuro Cosmedics Nutri-Luxe Cleansing Oil
Looking for a way to remove dirt and grime without drying out your skin? This indulgent oil is the answer.
Why we love this product
Ginger&Me really is unlike most skin care brands on the market. The label works at a cosmetic-medicine level to create products that counteract modern-day skin disruptors while remaining as clean, safe and natural as possible. Despite the science behind it though, the products aren't nearly as intimidating to use as they may seem.
The Nutri-Luxe Cleansing Oil is the perfect example of this as it takes a staple from your skincare routine and transforms it into a multi-use product that both removes makeup and pollutants and works to restore balance to your skin.
The quick verdict
Why is it good? Removes dirt and makeup without leaving skin dry and tight, while also working to restore skin's natural balance.
How much is it? $55 for 150mL
Where to buy it? InSkin Cosmedics online
The first thing I noticed about the product is how incredibly luxurious it is on the skin. Rather than turning my face into an oil slick like I expected, working the product into my skin actually felt quite similar to getting a facial at a fancy spa.
Despite being fairly lightweight though, the Nutri-Luxe oil definitely gets the job done. Simply put a couple of pumps onto your fingers, massage it in a circular motion over your skin and your makeup will literally melt off between your fingers.
My main concern about the product though was how easy it was going to be to get off my skin. Given that oil and water don't mix, I was pretty worried that I'd end up having to scrub my skin when it came time to wash it off, effectively rendering the gentle nature of the product pointless. This wasn't the case though and, while the suggestion is to wet the face and then use a wash cloth to remove the product, I actually found that I could just rinse my face as usual, no towel needed.
My other worry stemmed from a problem that I often encounter with cleansers in that, in order to really remove all impurities from your face, they end up stripping your skin and leave it feeling horribly squeaky clean. Skincare fans will know what I'm talking about when I mention that unpleasant tight sensation that comes from a job a little too well done.
The Nutri-Luxe Oil has managed to solve this problem though, with the grape seed and avocado oil base leaving my skin feeling super clear and not the least bit uncomfortable. In fact, it left my usually dry skin feeling smooth and hydrated, without me having to immediately slap on a thick moisturiser afterwards like I have to do with other cleansers.
Overall, I was incredibly impressed with this product and will be keeping it as a staple in my skincare routine. Out of the countless cleansers I've used, I have never before found one so accomodating to dry skin, though I feel like it could be used on any skin type without an issue. The fact that it also noticeably improved the balance of my skin to leave it less dry and stressed out made this a real winner for me, as did the divine scent that you get every time you pop it on.
At $55, I am actually pretty amazed at the price point of the Nutri-Luxe Cleansing Oil. Not only does it feel incredibly luxurious to use, but it also comes in a generous 150mL bottle. Add to that the dedicated skin science that goes into creating the Neuro Cosmedics line, and the fact that the products are exclusive to the brand's site, and you could easily expect the product to go for upwards of $100. Given that, I'm very happy with the accessibility of the product and will definitely be purchasing again.
