Getting around Mount Buller

See action on the hills faster with these quick tips on transport to, from and in Mount Buller.

Mount Buller is a small village that has almost everything within walking distance. Free shuttles are available throughout the village to help you get around, especially with heavy ski and boarding equipment.

Taxis are available to take you from car parks to the village and can also be hailed throughout the village. Taxis run on set fees.

Shuttle transfers to and from Mount Buller are easy to find with departure times to fit your schedule.


Mount Buller public transport

  • Types of transport: The Intra-Village shuttle takes guests to all corners of the village and has space on board for skis and snowboards. The route is comprised of three loops, all starting in the main square and heading to the mountain or residential areas.
  • Paying for transport: The Intra-Village shuttles are free.
  • Getting to and from the airport: While it’s possible to get to Mount Buller village from Melbourne Airport via public transport, it takes a minimum of five hours and includes two transfers. Use the Public Transport Victoria journey planner to determine the best route from your destination. Alternatively, you can book shuttle transfers prior to your flight, which are a more popular option for getting to the snow.
  • Best apps for getting around: The Mt Buller Live app is a trail map that gives up-to -date information on trail conditions and lift status, and uses a GPS map to show you key spots in the village. If you’re driving, the Public Transport Victoria app can be used for directions to and from Mount Buller village from Melbourne.

Taxis and uber

Taxi: Taxis are available between the car parks and the village, as well as within the village. Taxis only accept taxi tickets which can be either purchased online beforehand, directly from the drive, or at the resort entry point.

Uber: Uber is currently not available in Mount Buller.


Transfers

Get yourself to the snow for a day or for a weekend getaway with simple transfers from Melbourne, Adelaide or Sydney.

From Melbourne Tullamarine Airport you can book a transfer on Mt Buller Ski Express. From Melbourne, Adelaide or Sydney city centres, BullerBus offers daily transfers. Additionally, Alzburg, Extragreen Holidays, Gray Line and Mt Buller Ski Express all offer coach services between Melbourne city centre and Mount Buller.
